35mm film // Stiles

As a trail runner, I encounter many stiles—some necessary, some not. They offer a brief pause, a chance to take in my surroundings. While running, my focus is on my footing, but stiles force me to stop, shift my perspective, and embrace the adventure ahead. At times, I resent them — especially when my legs are weary, and they feel like an insurmountable obstacle. But once I’m over, there’s a small sense of triumph, a reminder that every hurdle conquered is an achievement in itself.
